Chas’ college education is from one of the nation’s top schools for fine art and commercial design, Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD). Attending the school on scholarship he also received grants for excellence from CCAD and The Columbus Society of Communicating Arts.
Chas has directed and produced highly effective visual communications programs for a wide range of clients, on an international retail scale. Currently he is now freelancing on his own and enjoying the pleasure of creating his art with his hands in clay, daily, at The Clay Gallery.
Many things about the business of design and creating have changed during his career, primarily the technology behind it all. He believe successful results are still driven by the basics. What’s the idea behind your action? The goal of each project is to create the most intriguing product possible, without losing sight of the original dream. Personal goals on each are driven by a desire for discovery, creating something that hasn’t been seen before, and having fun during the process.
Currently his ceramic work involves hand formed porcelain and experiments in combination with stoneware. The final pieces are individual creations with a whimsical character.
